This privacy policy applies to the HiddenFace app (hereby referred to as "Application") for iOS devices, created by David Collado Sela (hereby referred to as "Service Provider"). HiddenFace is designed with privacy as a fundamental principle, not an afterthought.

Our Privacy Commitment

HiddenFace is built on the principle that your photos, videos, and facial data are yours alone. We have designed the Application to operate entirely on your device, ensuring that:

  • Your photos and videos never leave your device - All face detection and image/video processing happens locally on your iPhone or iPad
  • No data is uploaded to servers - We don't have servers that receive, store, or process your photos or videos
  • No advertising or cross-app tracking - We don't use advertising networks, we don't collect an advertising identifier (IDFA), and we never sell or share your data for advertising
  • No account required - You can use HiddenFace without creating an account or providing personal information

Information We Do NOT Collect

To be absolutely clear, HiddenFace does NOT collect:

  • Your photos or videos
  • Facial recognition data or biometric information
  • Your location
  • Your contacts
  • Your browsing history
  • Your name, email address, or other contact details
  • Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or any data used to track you across other apps and websites

The Application does collect a limited amount of usage data to help us improve it. This is explained in full under Usage Analytics below.

On-Device Processing

The Application uses on-device AI to perform face detection in both photos and videos. This processing:

  • Runs entirely on your device's Neural Engine
  • Does not require an internet connection to function
  • Does not transmit any data to external servers
  • Does not store facial data beyond the immediate editing session

Photo and Video Access

HiddenFace requires access to your photo library to function. This access is:

  • Limited to the photos and videos you explicitly select for editing, or capture from inside the app
  • Used only for the purpose of face detection and editing
  • Never used to scan, analyze, or upload your photo library

Edited photos and videos are saved only when you choose to export them.

Usage Analytics

To understand how the Application is used and to keep improving it, HiddenFace collects a small amount of usage data through TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service. This covers events such as which screens you open, which features you use, and whether an export or purchase succeeded. It never includes your photos, your videos, or any face data.

  • No advertising identifier (IDFA) is collected, and the Application does not track you across other apps or websites
  • No data is sold or shared for advertising purposes
  • The identifier used to group events coming from the same device is hashed on your device before it is sent, so neither we nor TelemetryDeck ever receive the original value
  • Because that hashed identifier stays the same on your device, this data is pseudonymous rather than fully anonymous: it is not linked to your name or an account, but it does distinguish one device from another

Third-Party Services

The Application uses the following third-party services:

  • RevenueCat - For managing optional in-app purchases. RevenueCat may collect purchase and subscription data, without collecting personal identifiers such as your name or email address, as described in their privacy policy.
  • TelemetryDeck - For the privacy-focused usage analytics described above, as described in their privacy policy.

No other third-party services are used. We do not use advertising networks, and we do not allow any third party to track you across other apps or websites.

Free Usage Model

HiddenFace is a free download with every feature included. Exports made on the free plan include a small watermark. Optional in-app purchases remove that watermark — they do not change what data is collected.

Data Retention

Your photos, videos and edits exist only on your device, so there is nothing for us to retain. The limited usage analytics described above are stored by TelemetryDeck on our behalf, and are kept only for as long as they remain useful for understanding how the Application is used.

Children's Privacy

HiddenFace does not knowingly collect any personal information from children. Photos, videos and face data are processed locally on the device and are never transmitted to external servers, and the usage analytics described above never ask for or include personal details such as a name, email address or age.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date.

Your Rights

Your photos, videos and face data never reach us, so they stay entirely under your control on your device and there is nothing for us to give you access to or delete. For the limited usage analytics described above, you can contact us at the address below to ask about access or deletion, and we will do what we can to identify and remove the data associated with your device.

Summary

HiddenFace is designed to protect your privacy, not exploit it. Your photos and videos stay on your device. Your facial data stays on your device. The only thing we receive is the limited, privacy-focused usage analytics described above, which help us improve the Application — we never sell or share your data, and we never track you across other apps.
